Thanks to Storeden's integration with the Google Translate automatic translation system, you can translate your product catalog in a professional manner using the Google Translation API - Cloud Platform Console. In order to use this system, you should:
- install the app that you'll find in the Storeden APP Market by clicking Proceed with Install;
- generate the API key directly from your account within the Cloud Platform Console. For more information on how to create the API key, click here. If the Google API key is not generated and inserted in the appropriate field, the translation system will not work.
Once the API key configuration is complete, the page will appear as follows:
The base language of your store indicates the main language of your store, in our example it's Italian.
Below you will find the other languages enabled in the Storeden e-store and the related translations available with Google. For more information on languages supported by Google, click here.
On the right side of the page, you can select the translation language for the (optional) translation of your SEO contents (SEO description, SEO title, SEO keywords).
Below are three tabs: products, categories and brands with the related items translated and divided by pages.
It is possible to bulk select the items per page, or only the relevant content on the current page.
To proceed with the translation, simply click the 'Translate' button located in the upper menu. Once you have clicked Translate, the page will lock, indicating the process is in progress, as shown in the screenshot below:
Once the translation is ready, a report will be available with the status of the translations and any errors that may have occurred during the translation phase.
From the app's start page, clicking a product SKU code will open the detail page containing the product information in the base language (not modifiable) with a link to the corresponding back office page. In addition, it will show translation details for the alternative editable languages, where you can apply an automatic Google translation (with a results report as in the above screenshot). The same service is available for store categories and brands (by clicking the names). A product example:
If errors occur during the translation process, the system will indicate the fields that produced an error in red, as shown in the following screenshot:
The field is marked in red and the arrow indicates the element with an error:
To access the translations generated, simply browse to the App Market > Google Translator or open it directly from the Translations section of the menu. For each product, category or brand, you'll find a button that gives you the option to translate with DeepL. For example:
